神と科学は領分を分けていて、互いに不可侵条約を結んでいた。というのが、最近までの理性的な人間の態度。そんな「オトナ」な空気の読み方にあえて異議を唱えたのが、リチャード・ドーキンスの「神は妄想である」（原題："The God Delusion"）。蓋然性という手段を使って神さえも科学しようというその態度は、確かに、科学的と言えるかも。
